On May 19th at noon, Reno-Tahoe Grey Eagles ED and Miss Charo are throwing us a great FREE LUNCHĀ (bring along your own favorite beverage) in his very cool "hangar-minium.ā€Ā  Ā Then just a step outside youā€™ll have a front row seat to an amazing display of flying prowess as others are landing on a 22ā€™ wide runway. Ā 


EDā€™s hangar is at theĀ Farias Wheel Airport in Wellington, NV, about an 1:17 drive south of Reno.

This is a fly-in or drive-in event. Ā For those of you with motorhomes enjoy an opportunity to give your rigs a seasonal shake down, with the option to overnight connected to EDā€™s 50A shore power. Our luncheons are usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Ā However due to this special occasion, this May luncheon at EDā€™s Hangar will be on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Ā

DIRECTIONS TO 72 PINON DRIVE from RENO/TAHOE area:

Head south on I-580/US395 to NV208 (just prior to Topaz Lake).

On NV208 head east to Wellington, Nevada,

at the bottom of Jack Wright Pass,

make a left on LOWER COLONY ROAD*,

about 5 miles north make a left on DAY LANE,

DAY LANE turns into a dirt road at UPPER COLONY;

(your choice, stay on DAY LANE and make a left at Pinon Drive)


or


Make a left turn on UPPER COLONY ROAD until you reach PINON DRIVE,

and make a right turn onto PINON DRIVE until almost the end of the road,

we are the Green Hangar-minium on the right at 72 Pinon Drive

*your GPS may say to turn onto UPPER COLONY ROAD from NV208, you can, but be prepared to drive a twisty-turny Nevada Mountain road!

DAY LANE turns into a ā€œdirt roadā€ at the intersection of UPPER COLONY ROAD; if you donā€™t want to get your vehicle dirty, make a left turn onto UPPER COLONY and then a right turn on PINON DRIVE to almost the endā€¦

We are the GREEN HANGAR at almost the end of Pinon Drive at 72 Pinon.

Take the taxiway to the 1st LEFT Driveway and WELCOME to our humble abode !!!
